SUSPECT CRIES `MAMA,' FLEES HIS JUDICIAL FATE

Minutes before a jury was to begin deliberating his fate, robbery suspect Delano Leroy Graves jumped up, shouted "Mama, I'm scared!" and bolted through the courtroom door.

His fear, as it turned out, was justified. Chased down, captured and returned to Circuit Court within minutes, Graves was convicted Tuesday on four robbery counts and sentenced to 90 years in prison.

Authorities said Graves, 22, managed to run a couple of blocks and was trying to steal an elderly couple's car with them inside when deputies finally caught up with him.
