Allison, 32, died July 13 of injuries he suffered the day before in the crash of a helicopter he was attempting to land at Talladega Superspeedway, where the DieHard 500 is set for Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Liz, and two children.
After three of this season's four IROC events, Allison was the points standings leader toward the overall winner's $175,000 prize. He had amassed 54 points to 46.5 points for Indy-car driver Al Unser Jr. Whatever points Labonte earns will be added to Allison's and the final earnings will be added into a trust fund established for Allison's children.
"The circumstances are very sad," Labonte said. "I hope I can help Davey win the IROC championship, which he deserves."
