OBIT TURMAN, KENNETH LEE
TURMAN, Kenneth Lee, 44, of Virginia Beach, and formerly of Laurel Fork,
passed away July 21, 1993. Born November 3, 1948, in Henry County to Clarence
H. and Virginia Sutphin Turman, Kenneth attended Laurel Fork Elementary School
and was a 1967 graduate of Hillsville High School and also graduated from
Danville Community College. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1969 and served in the
Medical Corp until retirement as CPO 3rd class in June, 1989. After retiring
from the Navy, he served as chief technologist of radiology department at
Northampton-Accomack Hospital, Nassawadox. Kenneth was a member of Shermont
Baptist Church, Danville. He is survived by his wife, Chong (Mija) Turman,
Virginia Beach; parents, Clarence H. and Virginia Sutphin Turman, Laurel Fork;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Donald Martin, Hillsville, Lois and
Milton Graham, Bedford; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie Ray and Frances
Turman, Laurel Fork, Clarence (Arvin) Turman, David Wayne Turman, both of
Laurel Fork; niece, Tracy Jo Martin, Hillsville. Funeral services will be
conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 1993, at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady
Chapel, Hillsville, with Pastor Winston Puckett officiating. Burial in the
Sutphin Cemetery, Carroll County. Military rites will be conducted at the
graveside by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post #1115. Funeral arrangements by
Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
