Stacie Annette Foster and BlaineHarding Simmers were married atCloverdale Church of the Brethren, inCloverdale, Virginia on July 24, 1993. The Reverend Steven W. VanHouten, pastor of the church, officiated. A receptionwas held in the Green Drawing Room ofHollins College, Roanoke, Virginia. The double ring ceremony took place at seven o'clock in the evening. The organistwas Wendy Kay Anderson of Roanoke. Jennifer Kent Murray of Roanoke provided violin music and Mary Elizabeth Bowman Johnson of Harrisonburg, was the soloist.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin fashioned with off the shoulder pleated cap sleeves, an antebellum waist with three satin roses at the back, and a full skirt ending in a chapel train. The bodice and skirt was accented with re-embroidered alencon lace embellished with seed pearls and sequins. Her three tiered cathedral length veil of illusion with hand appliqued lace fell from three satin roses accented with pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of ivy with ivory and peach roses and baby's breath.

Stephanie Ann Foster of Blue Ridge was the maid of honor for her twin sister. Bridesmaids were Melinda WheelingFoster of Wake Forest, North Carolina, sister-in-law of the bride; Tricia Louise Fishback of Bridgwater; Demetra Jean Heckman of Richmond; Jennifer Adele Lowe of Roanoke; all friends of the bride. Kathryn Miriam Murray of Roanoke, friend of the bride, was a juniorbridesmaid. Gail Douglas Simmers ofSalem, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Damon Douglas Simmers of Salem, brother of the groom; Samuel Christian Foster, II of WakeForest, North Carolina, brother of the bride; Gary Steven Johnson of Harrisonburg, friend of the groom; Shawn Michael Replogle of Bridgewater, cousin of the bride; and Richard David Moses of Roanoke, uncle of the groom. The bride's nephew, Samuel Christian Foster, III of Wake Forest, North Carolina, served as ring bearer. The guest book was attended by Mrs. Virginia Foster King. Programs and gifts were attended by Miss Kathryn Michelle Neff and Miss Tara Leigh Myers.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Christian Foster of Blue Ridge, is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Bridgewater College. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Douglas Simmers of Salem, is a graduate of Salem High School and Bridgewater College. Both areemployed by Bridgewater College.

After a wedding trip to Forest Hills, Georgia, the couple will live inBridgewater, Virginia.
