OBIT LEE, MATTIE VIRGINIA MCKINNEY

LEE, Mattie Virginia McKinney, 81, of 1320 Norfolk Ave. Bedford, died Friday, July 23, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bedford County on July 21, 1912, a daughter of the late William McKinney and Mary Lou Brown McKinney. She was a member of the Bedford Christian Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill McKinney and James McKinney. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Lee; and one sister, Nellie McKinney Jones, Nashville, Tenn. Also surviving her are several nieces and nephews, including Bobby McKinney and Andy Lee, both of Bedford. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Monday, July 26, 1993 in Virginia Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
