HOCKEY DESERVES MORE COVERAGE

I'm writing to complain about your hockey coverage or should I say lack of. I'm not talking about the ECHL coverage but the NHL coverage. The NHL entry draft was held Saturday, June 26 and on Sunday there was only a little about [Alexandre] Diagle signing with Ottawa. I was looking forward to seeing the list of who drafted who and there was nothing. There are many people in Roanoke who like hockey and there is nothing but a few, small articles on the last few pages while the rest is filled with football and basketball.

At this time, I would like to say that I'm sure that the Valley Youth hockey players in Roanoke would love it if you listed the scores of their games in the house league and travel teams. They are representing hockey in Roanoke and the surrounding areas. These hockey players would also love to see their names for the hockey team in the paper.

I would like to commend Jack Bogaczyk for his articles on the new hockey team in Roanoke. I'm looking forward to the games. I would greatly appreciate if you acknowledged the exciting game of hockey more than you do. I'm sure the many hockey fans and players in Roanoke will too.
