CHITTUM, Ruby Karnes, 85, of Route 1, Boones Mill, passed away Saturday,
July 24, 1993. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Chittum Sr.; three
sons, Paul W. Chittum of Woodbridge, Joseph E. Chittum Jr. of Stafford, Odell
K. Chittum of Vinton; two daughters, Avis C. Lovell of Roanoke, Mary Ellen
Jones of Stuart; daughter-in-law, Flora Anne Chittum of Vinton; two
half-sisters, Dorothy Duffy of Wilmington, Del., Marie Umble of West Chester,
Penn.; niece, Billie Pennington of Bluefield, W.Va.; nephew, Wallace Reid of
Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services
will be held at 12 noon Monday, July 26, 1993, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel
with the Rev. Donald Abshire and the Rev. Wilson Jamison officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton
Chapel.
