OBIT UPDIKE, MABEL D.

UPDIKE, Mabel D. 97, of Salem, died Monday, July 26, 1993 in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Herman D. Updike. Surviving are one daughter, Vera K. Updike of Salem; one brother, Harry H. Dixon of W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Lura Showalter of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Rick Elmore officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
