ROAD ACCIDENT KILLS BUCHANAN DRIVER

A Buchanan man was killed late Tuesday when his four-wheel-drive vehicle ran off a Botetourt County road and struck two trees.

William Allen "Billy" LaPrad, 19, died at the scene of the 11:45 p.m. accident on Virginia 630 near Fincastle, a state police dispatcher said Wednesday.

LaPrad was traveling east when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree, went 30 feet and struck another tree, the dispatcher said. It was not known whether he was wearing a seatbelt.
