VIRGINIA'S SPIRIT SHINES IN FLOOD RELIEF

WSLS has raised more than $150,000 in its "Spirit of Virginia" flood relief campaign, and will present $77,000 of that to the Quibell Corp. today at 12:30 p.m. at the station's Third Street building.

The largest contribution, a check for more than $10,500, was made by Norfolk Southern Corp.

Quibell water is being shipped to Des Moines, Iowa, and to Missouri, where flooding has left citizens without clean water for drinking and cooking.

The remainder of the funds gathered will be donated to the American Red Cross flood relief effort.
