ROANOKE'S SHIRLEY 10TH IN GIRLS' TOURNAMENT

Lee Shirley of Roanoke finished tied for 10th at the AJGA Betsy Rawls Girls National Championship golf tournament in Wilmington, Del.

Shirley shot rounds of 77-78-80 for a 235 at the Hercules Country Club. Grace Park of Phoenix was the winner with a 220 total. Heather Bowie of Edmond, Okla., was second at 222.

Chesapeake's Robby Rasmussen shot a par 72 at Glade Springs Resort in Beckley, W.Va., to lead the Virginia team to a 16-shot win in the Virginia-West Virginia Junior team matches. Floyd's Tim Bower and Troutville's Scott Griffin shot 80 and 87, respectively, for the Virginia squad.
