FORMER TECH DEAN BROWN DIES AT 65

J. Gordon Brown, a former dean of students at Virginia Tech, died Wednesday in Lakeland, Fla. He was 65.

Brown came to Virginia Tech as dean of men in 1964, and later became dean of students, the second highest position in student affairs. He retired in 1987.

Previously, he was dean of men and the assistant football coach at Emory & Henry College.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland.
