SMITHFIELD PLANS ADDITIONAL HOURS
The 18th century museum Smithfield Plantation, located off Duck Pond Road
on the Virginia Tech campus, is opening extra days and hours during the Family
Motor Coach Convention. In addition to its regular visiting hours on Saturday
and Sunday of 1-5 p.m., the house will be open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. each day Aug.
2-6. The gift shop features gifts and souvenirs of Blacksburg and Southwest
Virginia. Admission is $4 for adults and $1.50 for children under 12.
