OBIT PETERS, ALVIS EDWARD

PETERS, Alvis Edward, 71, of Riner, died Thursday, July 29, 1993, in the VA Medical Center, Salem. He was a veteran of World War II; and a retired employee of Roanoke City Mills. He is survived by his wife, Jean Graham Peters; daughter and son-in-law, Alva and Kenneth Phillips, Riner; two granddaughters, Nicole K. Phillips and Valerie N. Phillips both of Riner; four sisters, Mrs. M.B. (Elsie) McFarland, Ms. Ocie Peters, Ms. Gertrude Peters, all of Christiansburg, Mrs. Calvin (Weda) Boothe, Floyd. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 1993, from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Phil Simms and Rev. Raymond Kelley with burial in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.
