OBIT RATCLIFFE, JANICE FAYEI
RATCLIFFE, Janice Faye, 55, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday evening, July 28,
1993, in a Pearisburg hospital. Born in Giles County, she was a daughter of
Mrs. Ethel Wilkinson Thorne of Narrows and the late Clarence Thorne. A devoted
wife, mother, and homemaker, she is also survived by her husband of 38 years,
Oakley P. Ratcliffe; three sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy P. and Reba
Ratcliffe, Gregory A. and Kathy Ratcliffe, Brian K. and Sharon Ratcliffe, all
of Pearisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn F. and Lloyd Echols of
Newport; five grandchildren, Jason Echols, Jacob Echols, Brittany Ratcliffe,
Miranda Ratcliffe, and Michael Perdue; four brothers, Rocky Thorne, Aubrey
Thorne, Melvin Thorne, and Lawrence Thorne, all of Narrows; two sisters,
Bernice Fleeman, Narrows, Patsy Mobley, Bristol. Funeral services will be
conducted Saturday, 2 p.m., in the Church of God of Prophecy, Pearisburg, with
Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in
Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home in
Pembroke on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
