OBIT WOOD, CHARLOTTE IRVINE

WOOD, Charlotte Irvine, 73, of 113 Alleghany St., Clifton Forge, died Wednesday, July 28, 1993, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Alleghany County on November 15, 1919, daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Leech Irvine. She was the widow of Claude William Wood, who preceded her in death in 1962. Mrs. Wood was a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, Low Moor; and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Susanne W. Wooton, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Elizabeth (Betsy) W. Brammer, Roanoke; four sons, Lawrence I. Wood, Clifton Forge, Gregory W. Wood, Lynchburg, Bruce A. Wood, Covington, John L. Wood,Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Alexander, Sarasota, Fla., and Miss Ellen Irvine, Low Moor; three brothers, Thomas L. Irvine, John L. Irvine, and James A. Irvine, all of Low Moor; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces; and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 31, Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor, with Dr. James Kennedy officiating with interment to follow. Memorial gifts may be made to the recently established Alleghany Regional Hospice Program, Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor, Va. 24457. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30.
