DONATIONS SOUGHT FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

The Salvation Army and United We Stand America are seeking donations for victims of this summer's Midwest flooding.

They have placed trailers in the parking lots of Roanoke's K-Mart on Franklin Road and the Wal-Mart at Hunting Hills Plaza. The trailers will be open during store hours. Also, containers have been placed at the front of the Salem K-Mart and Wal-Mart, and are open during operating hours, too.

Items needed include bug repellent, can openers, new sheets and towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shaving cream and razors, shampoo, bottled water, diapers, baby food, powdered milk, heavy duty mops, buckets, flat-edged shovels, squeegees, rubber gloves, and cleaning detergents.

In addition, volunteers are needed to help at all four collection sights. Call the Salvation Army at 343-5335 to help.

Financial help is needed as well. Send contributions to Flood Relief, Salvation Army, Box. 1631, Roanoke, VA 24008.
