NAMES ON CAMPUS

PETER EYRE, dean of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, was honored by both the Virginia and Maryland veterinary medical associations for his work. Several programs have been established by Eyre for developing and expanding academic programs, raising money to support clinical research and helping pet owners deal with the loss of a loved pet.

The 1993 "Greatest Stir in the Egg Industry Award" has been awarded to JOHN WOLFORD, professor of poultry science and acting head of the department of animal and poultry science, for his efforts in ensuring progress in the egg industry.

\ ANNE GAYNOR in the materials science department has received an Association for Women in Science Educational Foundation Award for completing her doctorate degree in a scientific discipline.

\ JOHN D. LOWMAN JR. of Dublin was chosen Outstanding Senior in the College of Education for his leadership abilities. Lowman was president of Eta Sigma Gamma National Health Science Honorary, a tutor for the YMCA, member of the Student Government Association House of Representatives and a member of the cycling team. He has received numerous other awards, and is presently an adjunct faculty member at New River Community College.

\ CHRISTOPHER LEARN, son of Suzanne Learn and the late William Learn of Radford, was named to the President's List for spring for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.

\ HEATHER WEAVER, a Shawsville High School graduate and daughter of Carol and Steve Weaver, was named to the Dean's List for spring semester for maintaining a 3.4 or better grade point average.
