OBIT DELONG, HOWARD LESLIE
DeLONG, Howard Leslie, 75, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, July 31, 1993,
in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of World War II. He is survived
by his wife, Myrtle Boothe DeLong; one son, W. Howard DeLong of Thaxton; one
daughter, Patricia A. DeLong of Richmond; one brother, Grover DeLong of
Moneta; five sisters, Frances Hannabass of Moneta, Irma Dillon of Moneta, Edna
Morgan and Ruby Powers of Vinton, Grace Vest of Roanoke; a number of nieces
and nephews. In accord with his wishes, Mr. DeLong's body has been donated to
medical science. There will be a memorial service at Halesford Church Tuesday,
August 3 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. The family
suggests that donations be made to the Patrick Henry Boys & Girls Plantation,
Route 2, Box 125, Brookmill, VA 24528 or the Scruggs Rescue Squad, and also
respectfully requests that no food be sent. The family will receive friends
immediately following the service at the Church.
