OBIT HICKOX, CHESTER C.
HICKOX, Chester C. 77, of Roanoke, died Thursday, July 29, 1993, at
Camelot Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident
of Attica and Alexander, N.Y. and was the son of the late John and Maizie
Garrett Hickox. He attended Alexander School and was a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir. Mr. Hickox was a
dairy farmer for many years and was retired from Trojan Industries of Batavia,
N.Y., at which time he served as custodian of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Burger Hickox; sons and daughters-in-law, John
C. and Betty Hickox of Mint Spring, Va., Gary A. and Doris Hickox of Roanoke;
a daughter and son-in-law, Anita L. and Paul Tobler of Cherry Valley, N.Y.;
five grandchildren, Heidi Hickox of Orlando, Fla., Amy Hickox of Roanoke,
Steven Tobler, Derek Tobler, Kevin Tobler, all of Cherry Valley, N.Y.; sisters
and brothers in-law, Marion and John Grefrath of Alexander, N.Y., Ruth and
Warren Hopkins of Alexander, N.Y., Jeanette and Fred Wilkie of Hudson, N.H.;
many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at
Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. M. Douglas Newman officiating. Interment
will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at 9:30
a.m. Monday, prior to the service, at Oakey's South Chapel. In lieu of flowers
memorials may be made to Alzheimers Research or Trinity United Methodist
Church.
