POWELL, Philip E., 73, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, August 2, 1993, in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Powell; one daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Robert (Bob) Wood, Boones Mill; one granddaughter, Cindy A. Wood, Richmond; one brother, Dalton Powell, Rocky Mount; one half sister, Carolyn Fisher, Fincastle; two sisters-in-law, Betty Smith, Rocky Mount, and Ovaline Motley, Danville; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 1993, at the Arrington-Bussey Chapel, by the Rev. James H. Steele and Mrs. Eva Leffue. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home anytime after 1 p.m. Tuesday, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home. Rocky Mount.
