"I'm hoping to get my brother, Brian, to drive it," Spangler said. Brian, 21, was the track's Limited Sportsman champion in 1989.
"And if Brian won't drive it, I guess we'll just have to find somebody else," said Spangler, who is not expected to race again until mid-September. "We're going to have the car there."
Spangler's Fairmont will be entered in the 50-lap Modified race, one of seven events on the card at the Leo Scott Cabinets 300.
Gates open at noon, qualifying starts at 6 p.m. and the first race at FCS begins at 8. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 10 are admitted free.
The fourth and final 200-lap race in the $50,000 Late Model Stock Car Challenge Series at New River Valley Speedway is Saturday night.
Christiansburg's Ronnie Thomas is seeking his third victory in the series at the Radford track. Thomas leads Johnny Rumley of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Paul Radford of Ferrum in the Doughton's Racing Products/Camaro Junction $5,000 points race.
Also scheduled Saturday night are Limited Sportsman, Modified Mini and Pure Stock races.
Gates open at 2 p.m., with practice starting at 4 p.m. Qualifying begins at 6:15, and racing begins at 8. Admission is $8 for adults and $1 for children 10 and younger.
Brian Marsh, competing for the Roanoke Valley Gators, placed eighth in the 100-meter butterfly at the Long Course YMCA Swimming Championships in Nashville, Tenn. Marsh was clocked in 59.12 seconds.
Vinton National won the 11- and 12-year-old state title Wednesday night in the Dixie Youth Major League baseball tournament with a 5-4 victory over Rustburg.
Neil Zimmerman picked up the victory and went 2-for-3 for Vinton, which advances to the national tournament starting Aug. 16 in West Monroe, La. Richie Meador scored two runs, including the game-winner, to give Vinton its second consecutive state title.
