Wendy's

Wendy's International, the Dublin, Ohio-based fast-food chain, Thursday reported all-time record second-quarter profits and earnings per share. Net income was $27.4 million, or 26 cents per share, up 22 percent from $22.4 million, or 22 cents per share in the 1992 quarter. Revenues were a record $345 million compared with $337 million and systemwide sales were a record $987 million compared with $979 million. The 1992 figures include an extra week because of the fiscal-year accounting policy. Company restaurants had record sales in 12 of the 13 weeks.

Net income for the first six months was up 23 percent to $37.2 million, or 36 cents per share, from $30.1 million, or 30 cents, in 1992. Revenues were $656 million compared to $615 million; systemwide sales rose to $1.89 billion from $1.79 billion. All-time sales records were posted for 25 of the 26 weeks.

\ Mod-U-Kraf

Mod-U-Kraf Homes Inc., a Rocky Mount manufacturer of modular buildings, reported second-quarter sales of $2 million, up 11 percent from $1.8 million in the 1992 period. Net income was $64,350, or 9 cents per share, down 45 percent from $117,301, or 17 cents per share, a year earlier.
