OBIT-HAMMONS, FRANCES ORY

HAMMONS, Frances Ory, 63, of Salem, died Wednesday, August 4, 1993. She was a member of Salem Church of God for many years and a cook supervisor at Richfield Nursing Center since 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Nathan Hammons. She is survived by a son, Ricky Hammons; a daughter, Sharon Bailey, both of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Kurt Miller, Conroe, Texas; mother, Mrs. A. B. Herrell, Athens, W.Va.; grandchildren, Misty, Doug and Christina Bailey, Jason and Jordan Miller; sisters, Agnes Shumate, Athens, W.Va., Wanda Sue Hines, Salem; brothers, Thomas E. Herrell, James W. Herrell, Arthur R. Herrell, all of Salem; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Joe Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
