OBIT PRILLAMAN, GEORGE GARNER
PRILLAMAN, George Garner, 69, of Roanoke, died Thursday, August 5, 1993, in
a local hospital. A native of Salem, he had lived in Roanoke most of his life.
He retired in 1986, as an agent with Southwestern Life Insurance Company,
after 32 years of service. He was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church, a
member of the Masonic Lodge #139, A.F.&A.M., and an Army Air Corp. veteran of
World War II. Survivors include his wife, Freda Hensley Prillaman; a son and
daughter-in-law, George Garner and Wanda Banks Prillaman Jr.; two
grandchildren, Zachary L. Prillaman and Courtney F. Prillaman, all of Falls
Church; four sisters, Vera P. Thompson, Salem, Maude P. Vail, Houston, Texas,
Mary P. Carper and Susan P. Pillis, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be
held Monday, 11 a.m. at the John M. Oakey and Son Chapel in Salem, with Rev.
J. Landon Maddex officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
