OBIT SKINNELL, ROY EDWARD
SKINNELL, Roy Edward, 71, of Roanoke, died Friday, August 6, 1993, in a
local hospital. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Mr. Skinnell
was a retired manager of the used car department for Fulton Motor Company.
After retiring, Mr. Skinnell was an employee of the Kroger Store at Cave
Spring Corners. Surviving are his wife, Fay Webb Skinnell, Roanoke County; one
son, Roy Allen Skinnell, Richmond; four daughters, Betty Lou Underwood,
Thaxton, Bonny Sue Bowen, Roanoke County, Ellen Marie Chao, Roanoke County,
and Karen Lynn Mutispaugh, Amherst, Va.; ten grandchildren; three sisters,
Inez S. White, Newport News; Goldie S. Arrington, Roanoke, and Audrey S.
Richardson, Roanoke; stepmother, Ethel Spraker Skinnell, New Castle; also
surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral
services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 11 a.m. Monday, with Dr. Harry
Y. Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In
lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a favorite charity.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South
Chapel.
