If Layman is appalled by what he sees in San Francisco, then perhaps he should consider why the city is that way. San Francisco has long been a tolerant environment for many types of people. Few of our residents are native-born. If we have more than our share of "intolerable" people, then one should blame the communities from which they sought refuge.
His article makes questionable correlations between sex and mortality, a frightening disservice to your readers. The Human Immuno Virus causes AIDS, and that HIV does not discriminate against any human regardless of race, creed, or sex. AIDS is a threat to everyone. I hope the local health department and schools are providing better education than Layman. If not, God help you.
Finally, the Mitchell brothers could have manufactured Bibles instead of sex movies. Their source of notoriety should not invalidate the guarantee of a free and fair trial.
