FUJIMURA-FRANCIS

A double wedding ceremony wasperformed August 7, 1993, at Salem Presbyterian Church by the Reverend James Riach uniting in marriage Sara Katherine Francis and Toshi Miyouei Fujimura; and Tara Anne Francis and Steven Ray Hawkins. The reception was held at the brides' family's home.

Sara and Tara are the daughters of James and Rosemary Francis, and the granddaughters of Audrey Francis and the late Lynn Francis of Salem. Toshi is the son of Fumio and Akiko Fujimura of Nagoya, Japan. Steven is the son of James Hawkins, III, of Harrisonburg and Gladys Cundiff of Vinton.

Sara's attendants were Kimberley Harris and Marcia Walker. Toshi's groomsmen were Paul Egleston and P. David Shelor, Jr. Tara's attendants were Laura Rugg and Jennifer Snyder. Steven's groomsmen were Ian Francis and Robert Mitchell, III. Karen Tiller and Soon Ki Woo attended the guestbooks. Program attendant was Lisa Davis. Photographer was Jim Markey. The couples would like to thank Viola Goacher for her assistance.

Sara, a Northside graduate, is apre-med student at UNC-Greensboro. She is also a research assistant for theDepartment of Public Health at UNC-G. Toshi, a graduate of Ontario H.S., Ohio, is a 1992 graduate of UNC-G in urbanplanning. He teaches Japanese in the Wilkes Co. Public School System. Tara, also a Northside graduate, is a 1993graduate of Virginia Tech in communication studies. She is a training co-ordinator for Kinko's Copies. Steven, a William Byrd graduate, received his doctorate's degree in sociology from Virginia Tech. He is employed by Blue Ridge Community Services Board.

The Fujimuras will be residing inWinston-Salem and are planning aChristmas honeymoon to Florida. After a honeymoon to Virginia Beach, theHawkinses will be living in Roanoke.
