PERMACULTURE FARM FIELD DAY AUG. 22

A Permaculture Farm Field Day, featuring permaculture homestead and farm design, minor livestock breeds and sustainable food systems, will take place Aug. 22 from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Permaculture is an approach to providing food and other human needs with ecologically sound methods.

The program is sponsored by the New River chapter of the Virginia Association for Biological Farming.

Events will take place at the Sunrise Valley Farm in Snowville, a 110-acre family organic farm.

Admission to the field day is $2 for association members, $3 for nonmembers and free to those under 18 and over 65.
