MOCK TRIAL JURY FINDS ROSENBERGS INNOCENT

A mock trial jury found Julius and Ethel Rosenberg innocent Tuesday of plotting to give U.S. atomic secrets to the Soviet Union, in a colorful restaging of the "espionage trial of the century" that sent both to the electric chair.

The American Bar Association used real lawyers, a judge and a jury of ordinary citizens to re-create the 1951 trial, updated to today's legal standards.

The mock Rosenbergs said they were members of the Communist Party - the real ones took the Fifth Amendment on that question - but emphatically denied spying. - Associated Press
