OBIT KNOWLES, LELAND ALBRIGHT

KNOWLES, Leland Albright, 83, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Knowles was a retired captain of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant Security Force. He was a member of McDaniel Lodge #86, A.F.&A.M., where he was a 32nd degree mason, and a member of the Kazim Shrine Temple, Roanoke. He was very active in the Shriner's Crippled Children's Program. He is survived by his wife, Renva Weeks Knowles, Christiansburg; sister Ruby Graham, Christiansburg; eight nieces, Frances Shelor, Floyd, Jean Peters, Riner, Wilma Tisdale, Pittsburg, Kan., Helen Flaharty, McCune, Kan., Lora Biggs, Meritha Handy, both of Martinsville, Elizabeth Hale, Frederick, Md., Estelle Simmons, Pineville, W.Va.; two nephews, Walter Knowles, Riner, and Horatio Quessenberry, West Jefferson, N.C. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Rev. Chuck McHose and Rev. Raymond Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Topeco Cemetery with graveside services by McDaniel Masonic Lodge #83. Friends may call at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
