OBIT CARTER, SUSAN ASHLEY

CARTER, Susan Ashley, 18, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 10, 1993, at her home. She was a student at Cave Spring High School and was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tully Page Parker. Surviving are her parents, Suzanne and Glenn O. Thornhill Sr.; three sisters, Sharon Carter, Stacy Carter, and Laura Thornhill, all of Roanoke; grandmother, Christine Parker; uncle, John T. Parker; father and his wife, Sam and Lonna Carter; brother, Reed Carter; grandmother, Emma Carter, all of Salem. Funeral services will be held at Cave Spring Baptist Church, 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Rick Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's South Chapel.
