OBIT STURDIVANT, MARY ELLEN

STURDIVANT, Mary Ellen, 75, of Richmond, formerly of Pearisburg, died Thursday, August 12, 1993. She was the widow of Leonard H. Sturdivant. Surviving are two daughters, Jane Sturdivant and Linda Nester; one grandson, Brent Nester; one sister, Sue Kitts of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Albert Bowling of Hillsville, and Glen Bowling of Bluefield, W.Va. She was a member of The Colonial Place Christian Church in Richmond. The funeral service was held 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, Richmond. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Va. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary's Hospice or The Colonial Place Christian Church Good Samaritan Fund both in Richmond.
