HAMPTON-BARRETT
Robin Michelle Barrett and Raymond L. Hampton, III were married August 14,
1993, in Bedford Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Burger performed the ceremony. The
reception was held at the Avenel House. The maid of honor was Alysia Barrett,
sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sharon Vincent, Alicia Hill, Lee
Wallace, Connie Shiplett, and Anne McDaniel, all friends. Flowergirl was
Jacqueline Parker, cousin of the bride. The best man was Raymond L. Hampton,
II, father of the groom. Ushers were John and Michael Hampton, brothers of the
groom, Brian Beldon, John Clifford, Michael Harris, and Russell Elmore, all
friends. Ringbearer was Bradley Parker. The guestbook was attended by Kelly
Dick. The bride wore a traditional gown of satin and tulle in white with a
sweetheart neckline that fell to a natural waist and cap sleeves. The bodice
is detailed with reembroidered alencon lace, pearls and iridescent sequins.
The bouffant skirt is detailed with beaded appliques and extends to a sweep
train. She carried a free-style bouquet of wildflowers, freesia and roses. The
bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Barrett, of Bedford, is a graduate
of Mary Baldwin College. The bridegroom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L.
Hampton, II, of Huntington, W. Va., is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.
After the wedding trip to Eleuthera Island, The Bahamas, the newlyweds will
live at Smith Mountain Lake.
