LUCAS-THOMSON

Pamela Judeth Thomson and Matthew Claude Lucas were united in the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Andrew's Catholic Church on August 7, 1993. Father Joseph H. Metzger III and Father George Gormley officiated. The reception was held at the Jefferson Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rice Thomson, Jr., of Roanoke, Va., and granddaughter of Mrs. Marcella Shea Thomson of Richmond and the late Mr. Paul Rice Thomson, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Cutcliff of Florida. She is a graduate of Abingdon High School and Virginia Tech. She is employed as a teacher with Roanoke County Schools.

The bride wore a traditional gown of silk shantung in white with a sweetheart neckline, a basque waist and puff sleeves accented with rosettes. The full skirt extended to a cathedral train. The bodice and train border were detailed with alencon lace, pearls and iridescent sequins. Her headpiece was of matching silk rosettes with a cathedral length illusion veil and blusher. She carried a cascading bouquet of white and bridal white roses and Queen Anne's lace.

Karen Elizabeth Lynch of Charlotte, N. C., was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Elizabeth Johnson and Katey Spigle, friends of the bride, and Julianna Nicole Thomson and Erin Mott Thomson, cousins of the bride of Summit, N. J.

The groom is the son of Mr. Dennis Lee Lucas of Richmond and the late Mrs. Jane Ledford Lucas. He graduated from Manchester High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed by Allstate Insurance Company.

Dennis Lee Lucas, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen included Mark Stephen Lucas of Roanoke and Michael Clark Lucas of Richmond, both brothers of the groom. Paul Rice Thomson III of Little Rock, Arkansas, brother of the bride, and Aubrey Russell Johnson of Frederick, Maryland, friends.

The scripture readers were Gregory Mark Thomson of Summit, N. J., uncle of the bride, and Joseph P. McMahon, Jr., of Alexandria, Va. Musicians were Mark DuVall as soloist and organist and Jeff Kresge as trumpeter.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Roanoke.
