NELSON-CHERNAULT

Suzanne Marie Chernault, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Chernault III, of Blacksburg, and James (Jim) Stephen Nelson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stephen Nelson, of Christiansburg, were united in marriage on Saturday, August 14, 1993. The Rev. Jacob Mayer officiated at the double ring, candlelight ceremony at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Blacksburg.

Pamela Jacoby, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., was the maid of honor, and Tammy Graham, of Roanoke, was the bridesmaid. Both are close friends of the bride.

Steve Nelson, father of the groom, was the best man. Clay Blevins, of Christiansburg, best friend of the groom, was the groomsman. James Davis, friend of the groom, Christopher and Geoffrey Chernault, brothers of the bride, all of Blacksburg, were ushers.

Pre-service violin music was played by Dr. and Mrs. Dan Schneck, of Christiansburg. Mrs. Brenda Williams, of Radford, was the organist and Mr. Gerald Pope, of Roanoke, played the trumpet. Mrs. Maria Hall, of Roanoke, was the soloist. Duets were sung by the bride's parents and by the bride's father and the groom's mother.

A reception followed at the German Club in Blacksburg. Music was provided by the Brass 5 of Roanoke. The bride's brother, G. Robert Chernault, is a member of this group.

Suzanne graduated from Blacksburg High School and is currently working for BC/BS of Virginia in Roanoke and is working on her BS in Accounting. Jim graduated from Christiansburg High School and NRCC with a degree in Instrumentation. He currently works for Eastern Ridge Lime Co. as an Instrument Technician.

After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in their new home in Christiansburg.
