SEN. WARNER TO UNDERGO EYE SURGERY

U.S. Sen. John Warner said he will undergo surgery Monday to correct what he called a 15 percent loss of peripheral vision in his right eye.

Warner, a Republican, said the procedure will be done on an outpatient basis and he plans to resume working after two or three days of recuperation. He did not say where the surgery will be performed.

The senator canceled a planned discussion Tuesday in Tappahannock on congressional reauthorization of the Clean Water Act.

Warner said the eye problem began to develop two or three years ago and that doctors have monitored it. - Associated Press
