OBIT SELL, ELIZABETH J.

SELL, Elizabeth J., 83, of Vinton, passed away Friday, August 13, 1993. She was a long time member of the American War Mothers and held many offices in the local and state chapters. She was state president of the American War Mothers for two years. She was Vinton's Mother of the Year in 1976. She was a member of the Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, A. G. (`Reds`) Sell; six daughters and five sons, Mrs. Carl (Phyllis) Wagner of Allentown, Penn., Mrs. Paul (Doris) Dooley of Moneta, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Altice and Mrs. Warren (June) Dudley, all of Vinton, Mrs. Gerald (Marie) Wiley of Richmond, Mrs. Helen Hicks of Roanoke, John A. Sell of Vinton, Robert A. and Alice Sell of Blue Ridge, Charles W. and Susie Sell of Roanoke, James H. and Carol Sell and Edwin T. and Diane Sell, all of Vinton; 32 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Wm. Anthony Layman and Dr. George Wesley Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
