OBIT GROSS, ROY LACY SR.

GROSS, Roy Lacy Sr., 78, of Troutville, died Friday, August 13, 1993. He was a member and a Deacon of Mill Creek Baptist Church, was a retired yard conductor for N&W Railway, and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Doris McLain Gross; one son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. Gross Jr. and Judy of Buchanan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marlene G. Garten and Ronald of Troutville, Mary G. Plumley of Missoula, Mon., Susan G. Stump and Terry of Cloverdale; three grandchildren, Kim Gross, Angie Green and Chris Brock; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Thurman of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 16 with the Rev. Earl Clemons officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military honors by V.F.W. Post 1264. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Troutville or Fincastle Rescue Squad. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
