OBIT ELLIOTT, MATTIE VIRGINIA

ELLIOTT, Mattie Virginia, 77, of Overhill Drive, Christiansburg, died Saturday, August 14, 1993 in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert U. Elliott and is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Doyle Akers, Christiansburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Doris Elliott, Christiansburg, Robert M. and Clara Ann Elliott of Florida; four grandchildren, Wendy Akers Dudash, Brian Akers, Sheri Elliott and Carmen Elliott, all of Christiansburg; stepgrandchildren, Josie Graham and Richard C. Graham; a brother-in-law, Marshall K. Smith; sisters-in-law, Rena Swartz, Louise Clark and Gladys Clark; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Kanney and Rev. Chuck McHose. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening at Richardson-Horne.
