HILL BREAKS JINX WITH HUNGARIAN GP VICTORY

Damon Hill of Britain finally entered the winner's circle with a triumph in the Hungarian Grand Prix, in Mogyorod, Hungary, making him and his father, Graham Hill, the first father-son Formula One winners.

"It feels like Christmas," Damon Hill said.

The 30-year-old driver capitalized on bad luck by Williams-Renault teammate Alain Prost to a win in 1 hour, 47 minutes, 39.098 seconds. Prost, the season leader with 77 points, stalled coming off the pole position. Hill, second on the grid, grabbed the lead and never looked back.

\ Chrysler Corp. hopes to put its automotive foot back into racing with a car that blends high speed with environmental concerns.

Chrysler officials say the project is in the early stages of development, although the automaker hopes to introduce the $50 million project on next year's auto show circuit.

"We are not going to establish some new image for the company through motorsports," said Tom Kowaleski, a member of Chrysler's motorsports committee. "Instead, we're going to use a motorsports program to develop images already coming through the company."

Chrysler's concept car calls for powerful turbine motors and an electric flywheel system similar to those used on military jets. The unique combination could allow the car to reach speed bursts of up to 300 mph.
