OBIT PARKER, WILLIAM AUBREY
PARKER, William Aubrey, 94, of Route 6, Bedford, died Saturday, August 14,
1993 in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on
February 25, 1899, a son of the late John Curtis Parker and Lucy Ann
Overstreet Parker. He was a member of Cool Springs Presbyterian Church. He
owned the W. A. Parker Canning Company and was also owner and operator of the
Parker-Orange Store for over 45 years. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Lala Carter Parker and one son, Paul Parker. He is survived by three sons and
daughters-in-law, James D. Parker, Harrell A. and Nellie Parker, all of
Bedford, Dan G and Sarah Parker, Thaxton; five daughters and sons-in-law, Miss
Louise Katherine Parker, Ida P. Orange, both of Bedford, Carrie Gaynelle
Overstreet, Thaxton, Pearl P. and Leslie Orange, Bridgeton, N.J., Marie P. and
Marvin Lewis, Panama City, Fla.; seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon on Tuesday,
August 17, 1993 at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Ragland
and Rev. Jesse Bratton officiating. Burial will follow in the Parker Family
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the
Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
