TV evangelist Robert Tilton told surprised worshipers that he and his wife, Marte, are ending their 25-year marriage. Tilton made the announcement Sunday before a full congregation at his troubled Word of Faith in Dallas.

Donations to the church have dropped off recently after reports that the church took donations but threw away the prayer requests that accompanied checks.

Church members said the couple's problems had nothing to do with the ministry's troubles.

Berry Gordy and Michael Jackson were honored in Atlanta at the annual Jack the Rapper awards, named for the pioneering black disc jockey.

Gordy, the founder of Motown Records, received the "Original 13 Award" for his legendary work in the music industry. The "13" were a group of black DJs, including Jack "The Rapper" Gibson, instrumental in pushing early rock. Jackson was given the "Our Children, Our Hope of Tomorrow Award," which was named after him.
