Sheriff Hubert Stone of Robeson County, N.C., also said in a telephone interview that authorities have found a gun, but he would not say whether it was the weapon used to shoot Jordan during a roadside robbery.
Stone said the videotape will be presented as evidence in the robbery and murder trial of Daniel Andre Green, 18, of Lumberton, N.C., and Larry Martin Demery, 18, of Rowland, N.C.
"They had these things [Jordan's property] in their possession for several days, even [his] car," Stone said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "They were partying and showing off and having a big time and videoing themselves with the things."
Among the items taken in the robbery-murder were a wristwatch and a ring given to James Jordan by his son.
Jordan apparently was asleep in his car July 23 near Lumberton, about 80 miles south of Raleigh, when two men approached to rob him, Stone said.
"He was asleep at the time and he started to wake up and the gunman got scared," Stone said. "He was shot inside the car."
Jordan's body was dumped in a creek near McColl, S.C., where it was discovered two days before the car was found. The body was identified through dental records last Friday. - Knight-Ridder/Tribune
