OBIT-GRAYSON, LORETTE CARROLL

GRAYSON, Lorette Carroll, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, August 16, 1993, in a local hospital. She was the widow of Cleo P. Grayson, and was preceded in death by her parents, Maston and Rosa Carroll and a sister, Oveda C. Naff. Mrs. Grayson was a graduate of St. Louis Conservatory of Music, a piano instructor in the Roanoke Valley, and a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a past president of both the Roanoke Music Teacher's Association and the Thursday Morning Music Club; a member of the P. K. N. Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Elks. Surviving are four cousins, Dorothy C. Forbes, Gerald Carroll, Richard "Dick" Carroll, Mildred Covington, all of Vinton; and two dear friends, Pat Baumgardner and Lillian Howell, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where they will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
