Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Market Opinion Research found 27 percent of 121 potential car buyers surveyed had a better opinion of Saturn after the General Motors unit recalled 352,767 cars to replace faulty wiring that has caused engine fires in 34 cars. Half of the respondents said their opinions of Saturn were unchanged; 21 percent said they looked upon Saturn less favorably.
Similar mass recalls in the past caused much higher disapproval ratings, the survey company said. - Knight-Ridder/Tribune
