GED TESTS TO BE GIVEN IN CHRISTIANSBURG

The General Education Development tests, for people who want to earn a high school equivalency certificate, will be given Sept. 8 and Sept. 10 from 4:15 to 9 p.m. at Christiansburg High School on Independence Blvd.

Test sign-up is first-come, first-served; sessions are limited to 60 people.

Registration will be Aug. 30 through Sept. 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County School Board office, 200 Junkin St.

Applicants must be at least 18 and have lived in Virginia at least 30 days before applying.

When registering, all applicants must show photo identification, such as a driver's license.

The fee is $20, cash only, for the five-test battery and $4 for each retest.

Anyone who fails to pass one or more of the tests must wait 60 days before retesting.
