MOORE, Maude Stump, 99, of Seven Mile Ford, died Tuesday, August 17, 1993
in Belleview, Fla. She was a life long resident of Southwestern Virginia. She
was the widow of Wyndham R. Moore and they operated a farm near Seven Mile
Ford for many years. She was a member of the Seven Mile Ford Methodist Church
since 1910 and was always active in the work of the church. Mrs. Moore has
spent part of each year in Florida with her daughter since the death of her
husband. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Rice and Sibyl Moore,
both of Seven Mile Ford, Gay Moore, Belleview, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs Senah
Blessing, Seven Mile Ford, Mrs. Lois Murray, Edmond, Okla; two grandchildren,
Barry Rice, Baltimore, Md., Sharon Nichols, Belleview, Fla.; three
great-grandchildren, Penny McGowan, Paige Schubert, Patrice Nichols, all of
Belleview, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including Willis Blessing of
Seven Mile Ford. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday,
August 23, 1993, at the Newberry Funeral Home Chapel in Chilhowie, with the
Rev. Jeff Wright and the Rev. Rita White officiating. Burial will follow in
the Middlefork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Moore's jolly and gentle ways will be greatly
missed by her many friends in the area. Newberry Funeral Home, Chilhowie, is
in charge of arrangements.
