FOR THE RECORD

Representatives of the Humane Society of Montgomery County said that at least 14 of the cats taken from the trailer of Betty Flinchum are friendly and will be suitable for adoption soon after treatment for minor medical problems, such as ear mites.

These cats, like others available for adoption, will remain at the shelter until they are adopted, even if it takes a year, according to humane officials.

The staff will try to tame and rehabilitate the other seven cats taken from Flinchum, who pleaded guilty to mistreating the animals Tuesday, but some of these cats may be so wild that they cannot be turned into pets, according to the society.
