TEXTILE UNION TO PUSH FOR GOODY'S BOYCOTT

The Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union said Friday it will urge consumers today to boycott two new Goody's Family Clothing stores in Roanoke. The union and the Knoxville, Tenn.-based retailer are stalled in negotiations over a contract for workers at Goody's distribution center in Knoxville.

The union said it routinely urges boycotts during three seasons when Goody's has about 40 percent of its annual sales: back-to-school, Christmas and spring. - Staff report
